Prem Kumari Srivastava, is Professor of English with University of Delhi at Maharaja Agrasen College. With several publications [10 books (authored and edited), many research papers, book chapters, review articles, translations and creative writing: poems and stories], her research displays an overarching focus on the ‘other’: the popular, the indigenous, the non-urban and gender within Cultural Studies. Prem’s seminal works are Leslie Fiedler: Critic, Provocateur, Pop Culture Guru (2014), McFarland & Inc. Publishers, North Carolina, USA; three volume series (co-edited) on Literatures, Languages and Cultures of the Indigenous (2014 & 2017), Authorspress publishers, Delhi, co-edited & co-authored Language, Literature and Creativity (2013), Orient Blackswan, Delhi and Revisiting American Literature (Co-edited) Macmillan Publishers India Pvt. Ltd (2018). Her recent publications are Tribal Literature and Oral Expressions in India, Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi (2021) and Indian Popular Fiction: New Genres, Novel Spaces, Aakar Books, New Delhi (2021), Routledge (forthcoming, Nov. 2021). Having edited many issues of the journal, Fortell, Prem has coedited the current issue 43 (July 2021), a special issue on Dalit Literature. Prem has been associated with Fortell for more than a decade and currently is its Joint secretary.
